Located on the ground floor of a residential building far from the chaos of the historic center and a few minutes walk from the Duomo, the food market of Sant 'Ambrogio and the Museum of the Academy, is really the ideal situation for short and longer stays.

Get lost in Sant'Ambrogio

There is no better way to discover a town than by getting lost in its stories and feel the scents and flavours coming from the market stalls.

What you loved about Gelsomino, Sant'Ambrogio

Singfat / Jun, 2019

It is always hard to find a place the first time. In Florence, different portions of a street may have different names and it is only after the "I'm lost" experience that one can figure out directions. Once this was done, we found Gelsomino to be in a great location (but nearby San Ambrogio market is overrated, more like a tourist trap !), spotlessly clean, well furnished in amenities for cooking and within walking distances to both Santa Maria Novella and Campo di Marte train stations. We prepared our meals and hardly had to buy essentials like olive oil, spices etc: they were passed on by previous guests - Grazie to them ! Gelsomino delivered on its promises and we were satisfied. BTW, up to 6 people may stay there with its 2 sofa beds and 2 single beds but problem is there is only one toilet: that's why there is a guest number restriction. We found Gelsomino's courtyard fabulous for eating meals and drying laundry ...

relaxing and beautiful

Caryl / Jun, 2019

Relaxing - lots of space - beautiful ceiling and lots of light. Cool to come back to after the heat of the day - loved the outdoor space for sundowners and chilling. Comfy bed on the mezzanine. All the essentials we needed such as shampoo/soap/washing up liquid/seasonings for salads etc. , kitchen well equipped, showers hot and efficient. Bus 6 from station stops 50 m away and easy to get to bus for Fiesole, 5 cafes within 200 m for bread/breakfast, easy walk to Duomo and other places of interest. Loved the botanical gardens . Supermarket a little away but well supplied and relatively good opening hours. We would happily return here.

My home!

Sheilagh / May, 2019

Gelsomino became my home for a month and was everything I needed to help me live like a local for a short period of time. The location was great, easy walking for everything but far enough from the city to be away from the crowds. I would certainly recommend it

We highly recommend this lovely spacious apartment!

“The apartment is in a quiet street very close to all the major sights in Florence. It is very large with lots of windows and a small patio outside that we couldn't use in the winter but it was nice to be able to look outside. There were two large spaces with pull-out sofas and a loft with a large comfortable bed. The full bath was off the kitchen, and the half bath (no toilet) was very large with plenty of closet space, a shower and double sinks. The kitchen was equipped with a few pots and pans, dishes, etc., enough to enjoy breakfast or a light lunch. We had some trouble with the electricity to run the kitchen appliances, but Diana sent someone over right away to fix everything. We would highly recommend this lovely spacious apartment, especially for a longer stay.”
