Tim Coppens, Menswear Guest Designer for Pitti Immagine Uomo 91, said he is impatient too. "Following in the footsteps of so many great designers, I’m very excited to show my collection on the most prestigious international stage that is Pitti Uomo and I look forward to sharing this exceptional moment in January" he said.
Paul Smith chose Pitti Immagine Uomo 91 as his stage. Besides that, the event confirms the special attention Pitti always gave to the new names and figures in the international world of design. Thanks to a new collaboration with KOCCA - Korea Creative Content Agency - with the project Concept Korea, Pitti Uomo will once again be turning the spotlights on some of the most exciting brands from South Korea which, for several seasons, have stood out as the most dynamic companies in fashion research.
Among the events scheduled for Pitti Uomo, particular attention is paid to the launch of the Roy Roger’s capsules. and “Millennial taste. Traveling inquiries into the new tribes of fashion”, a debate - brainchild of Fabiana Giacomotti - on the role of fashion.
And, as it always happens, the magic and creativity of Pitti Uomo will reflect on the center of the city.
The Florentine center for fashion will present its Pitti Uomo 91 pre-opening event in Palazzo Pitti on January 9th. The exhibition called Fashion in Florence Through the Lens of Archivio Foto Locchi feaures tells the story of fashion in Florence through 100 rare shots from the 30s to the 70s.
After The Bridge Of Love, the most impressive, spectacular event bears once again the exclusive signature of Luisa via Roma The Bridge Of Love made us discover a new perspective on the Arno river, and now the trilogy goes on with a new topic, AIR. For this project Andrea Panconesi, owner of Luisa via Roma, chose Claudio Nardi again. Which shape will his new installation take? A whale at Forte Belvedere. A 1,200 square feet pvc balloon that looks as if it just touched the ground after a 15 meter flight. The structure will be inaugurated with a big party on January 9th and will host lots of Pitti events, theatrical performances, dance and music, included a world premiere of an unreleased work by Antonio Vivaldi.
This program, spread among the different locations and centered on the reassessment of the most beautiful places in the historical center, makes it worth to spend the January 2017 fashion week in an apartment in the center, in order to better follow the new trends inside and outside the pavilions.
